I myself fail to exhibit these symptoms after consuming Celtic Sea Salt for years in my late teens, early twenties and again, more recently for the past few years. Do note I'm consuming it with large amounts of purified (distilled or RO) water in addition to whatever of the salt I may add to my food. This is something I first practiced after reading a couple of Dr. Batmanghelidj's books. Currently, Darko Velcek advocates such practice along a diet of raw animal products. His YouTube channel, his blog.
"Most people with lead poisoning don't present any symptoms at all, resulting in the vast majority of cases going undiagnosed. It's not until a dangerous amount of lead has built up in the body that many of the signs and symptoms such as fatigue, irritability, and pain begin to appear. Learn what to look for."

In my own journey, I've experienced healing from issues arising from my years as a vegan by reintroducing "plasma water," as Darko calls it, alongside a diet based on raw animal products. While I was strict on the diet for about seven months, I subsequently became more lax on it. Yet, I maintain the practice of mixing sea salt into all the water I consume. "Plasma water" is basically around one teaspoon of fresh sea salt, such as the Celtic brand, in a quart/liter of purified water. The amount of salt can be more or less than a teaspoon, as one may be inclined. Food is liberally salted to taste, as well.
Others who have serious health issues have also experienced healing while using this brand or other fresh sea salt products. Fresh sea salt? The primary noted aspect is the salt attracts moisture due to the presence of magnesium.
"Celtic Sea Salt Lawsuit, Case Dismissed April 2025 But Can Be Refiled, What The Lead And Arsenic Allegations Mean For Consumers Still Using The Product"

While I recommend reading the entire article, here are some quotes on the lawsuit.
"Plaintiff Mark Gonzalez filed Gonzalez v. Celtic Ocean International, LLC, Case No. 2:25-cv-01177 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on February 11, 2025. The lawsuit claimed Celtic Sea Salt’s Fine Ground and Light Grey varieties contained dangerous levels of heavy metals—specifically 460 parts per billion (ppb) of lead and 140 ppb of arsenic."
"On April 11, 2025, Gonzalez voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit. Court records show the plaintiff’s individual claims were dismissed with prejudice (cannot be refiled), but the putative class claims were dismissed without prejudice (can be reworked and refiled in a future lawsuit).
This means while Gonzalez personally settled or abandoned his claims, other consumers who purchased Celtic Sea Salt during the proposed class period can still file new lawsuits alleging the same contamination issues. As of February 2026, no new class action has been filed, but the legal window remains open."

As an aside...
"While the health-related Celtic Sea Salt lawsuit is currently dormant, a new legal front opened in late 2025. A competitor, Cyberdyne Systems Inc., filed a petition to cancel the trademark for “CELTIC SEA SALT.” The petitioner argues that the term has become generic—identifying a type of product rather than a specific brand. If successful, this would allow any salt producer to label their product as “Celtic Sea Salt,” potentially flooding the market with competitors and further complicating the “quality” debate."

Ok, someone named their business after the antagonist corporation in the Terminator films that creates Skynet, an A.I. which nukes humanity. What a choice of names!

Further cost and nutritional considerations.
As of March 14, 2026:
Celtic Sea Salt is currently priced at $0.56/oz based on the 5lb bag.
https://www.amazon.com/Fine-Ground-Celtic-Sea-Salt/dp/B000TIXX4I
The Jacobson Sea Salt recommended by Tamara Rubin (Lead Free Mama) is $3.93/oz based on a 2 pack of 2oz bags.

Jacobson cost is 7x the Celtic brand. Their processing also seems to deplete the salt of its magnesium content as the resulting product seems dry and flakey, but this is only perceived through visual observation of the videos and photos available so I could be mistaken.
Within the last couple years a video of Barbara O'Neill went viral advocating the use of Celtic sea salt. This led to a high demand and supply shortage that sent the pricing on Amazon of a 5lb bag over $60. At that time I tried San Francisco brand French Grey as it was priced considerably less. However, I noticed much more debris and residue in the product. Once the price of Celtic brand came back down, I switched back to it as I had observed it to have better quality control.

Barbara O'Neill, an advocate of alternative natural solutions, gives her comments on heavy metals and microplastics in sea salt. She notes a greater risk in consuming sea life that lives on the bottom of the sea floor or those higher in the food chain that rely on such food sources. She also mentions Baja sea salt as an alternative to the Celtic brand.

Possible alternative? OceanSolution mineralizer is marketed as a fertilizer NOT as a product for human consumption. It's taken from a deep sea location in the Atlantic Ocean. When used as a fertilizer it is to be diluted. Consume at your own discretion/risk.
"OceanSolution™ is a concentrated, liquid, sea mineral-infused, organic fertilizer! Using a proprietary process we deep harvest the purest ocean minerals known to man. They are collected far offshore away from coastal land run-off and toxins, then processed, Ionized and concentrated to bring you our cornerstone product; OceanSolution™ PURE. The concept of using an ocean water extract for fertilization was originally discovered by Dr. Maynard Murray, a researcher dedicated to advancing Sea Energy Agriculture."

It's up to the reader to draw their own conclusions and plan of action.
Maybe someday I'll get a blood test that will reveal more pertinent data.
